Warana Hospital was started in 2008 with a view to give tertiary urological care under one roof. This was achieved by arranging all the investigations such as special X Rays, tests and ultrasonography within the premises. The aim was to give a one stop clinic where the patient is examined, relevant tests done and a final diagnosis and treatment plan was offered the same day.

Services
Uroflowmetry and Urodynamics
For patients with symptoms such as straining to pass urine, reduced flow, increased visits to washroom or loss of control over passes of urine, one or both of these tests is advised. These tests are done on outpatient basis. No fasting or anesthetic is required. Patient can go home immediately after the test. These tests help us to find the cause for the above mentioned symptoms and plan treatment accordingly.
X Ray
This is a digital x-ray unit. Following specialized x-rays are done:
- IVU (Intravenous Urography)
- RGU (Retrograde Urethrogram)
- MCU/VCUG (Voiding Cysto- Urethrogram)
- Nephrostogram
- Sinogram
Ultrasonography
Qualified sonologist visits the hospital to do the sonography of OPD as well as admitted patients. The report is given immediately.
Pathology
All the necessary blood tests are carried out without patient having to go elsewhere. Hospital has a MOU with reputed pathology laboratories. Blood is collected at WIUS and sent to these labs. Reports are sent via PDF files within 30 min to an hour to the consultants. Printed reports are given the next day. This helps with planning treatment the someday.
Reconstructive Urology
Stricture Urethra is the passage emerging from urinary bladder through which we pass urine. Due to injury, infection or at times without apparent cause a part or all of the passage becomes narrow. For a short segment, laser surgery may help. However there is a fair chance that the stricture recurs.
The narrowing, if persistence causes raised pressure in the urinary bladder, and eventually in the kidneys & it has to be treated. The urethra needs to be reconstructed this is called Urethroplasty. This operation requires skills, patience & perseverance. We are proud to say that our center is one of the well known ones this area of expertise. We have done, successfully, many surgeries. We have also presented videos & done live demonstrations of these surgeries at various conferences in India, China, Europe and USA.
This problem is also seen in female patients and many times neglected. Our center has the largest single center number of curative surgeries for this problem in India.
